Piano and Cello Instructor

This is Ms. Zydae. She is a professional music educator who earned her MA in Music Education from New York University after earning her BM in Music Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Ms. Zydae currently teaches piano, cello, and violin, however she has also served as a brass private instructor, has taught bands, orchestras, choirs, and was Assistant Music Director for her college acapella group. She has been involved in music since the age of 8. Although she teaches just three instruments, she plays many more! She enjoys practicing piano, cello, oboe, voice, violin, trumpet, flute, clarinet, and the Eb Alto Horn. She has taught students between the age of 3 years old and 81 years young! She truly loves teaching music and aims to encourage each of her students to be their own best musicians and their best selves!

This is Ariana Vega, or Vega. She is a freshman at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and is studying to become a music director for North Carolina and Florida, currently in school for her BM in Music Education. Vega has played violin for 10 years and enjoys both teaching and performing music from all different genres. Vega also proficiently plays ukulele, acoustic and electric guitar, and has performed more than 3 times in the All State and All County program. Along with music, Vega enjoys boxing and pro-wrestling, video games and cars, and hopes to open her own puerto rican based pastry shop! She looks forward to meeting more musicians like her in North Carolina!

Ms. Valeria - Music FunTime (toddler and young child music classes)

Kevin Hickman holds a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems and has a lifelong background in music, which began with classical training in middle school. Over the years, he has performed in several musical groups and developed a strong foundation across multiple instruments. He is currently qualified to teach piano, guitar, bass, drums, trumpet, and saxophone.

Kevin has extensive experience working with both children and adults in educational and support-focused settings. His teaching style is grounded in patience, consistency, and a respect for individual learning styles. His experience includes working with neurotypical students as well as those with varying abilities and support needs.

His professional background in disability services began with Lindley Habilitation in Greensboro, North Carolina, where he supported members of the disabled community in developing independence and life skills. This work emphasized activities of daily living, communication, and community engagement—skills that continue to inform his educational approach today.

Kevin's combined experience in music performance, instruction, and personal support work makes him a well-rounded instructor capable of adapting lessons to suit the needs of diverse learners.
