Zydae Joyner first started the School of Music in Z Major (MZM Studio) in November of 2020 in Brooklyn, NY.

Her musical journey began very early on. In the elementary she loved the recorder and her choir classes. In middle school she joined the school band as a clarinetist. In high school, she took on the oboe in Concert Band, tenor saxophone in Marching Band, and the Eb Alto Horn in her church's Brass Band, as well as singing in the church's Praise Band. During high school she also became interested in playing piano and went to Youtube to learn on her own.

Zydae then went to the University of North Carolina at Greensboro to study Music Education. She continued her oboe and piano studies, and then added on cello as her next instrument to master.

After graduating from UNC-Greensboro with her Bachelor's in Music Education, she moved from her home state of NC to the "Big Apple" - NYC. She worked as a private teacher for other studio's for one year then decided it was time for more schooling! So she went to study at New York University and graduated with her Master's in Music Education in December of 2020, one month after founding MZM Studio.

After one year of teaching in NY, she moved back home to NC where she continues to teach piano and cello, spreading her love of music to others, and working to instill confidence and success in her students.
